东京

东京是日本的首都，同时是世界上人口最多的大城市。这里也是日本47个都道府县之一，当中包括了23个中心区域和多个不同的城市、城镇和村落。伊豆和小笠原群岛也是东京都的其中一部分。

东京的原名是江户，直到1868年才更名为东京。在16世纪时期，江户城是日本的政治中心，于1603年时，德川家康在这里建立起他的幕府政朝。在几十年后，江户已成为世界上人口最稠密的城市之一。随着1868年爆发的明治维新，首都和日本天皇皆由京都迁到江户，而江户亦改称为东京(东方的首都)。东京大部分的地区在1923年的关东大地震和1945年的空袭中被摧毁。

今天，东京就代表着购物、娱乐、文化和餐饮的集合体，为游客提供无限的游玩选择。现在到东京旅游的行程不再是单调的到大型百货公司血拼，然后回东京酒店休息，休息够了再去血拼，还有更多值得做的事，比如在浅草区就可以欣赏这座城市的历史，游历众多优秀的博物馆，还可以参观历史悠久的寺庙和花园。有一点值得一提的是，东京在城市中心也有不少的绿化地区，你甚至可以在这找到天台花园，就是在大楼的顶层种植大量的植物，从而达到绿化城市的目的。

筑地鱼市场

筑地市场是东京一个著名的鱼类、水果和蔬菜的大型批发市场。在东京有超过10个大型的鱼、肉、农产品和花卉批发市场，当中最有名的便数这个筑地市场。筑地市场向来以世界最大的鱼市场而闻名，这里每天处理超过2,000吨的海产品。预计在2016年春季会迁移到丰洲。

秋叶原

秋叶原(Akihabara)，也因为著名的神社而被叫作Akiba，这里是东京的中央区，六是著名的电子商店街。在最近几年，秋叶原更成为了日本宅男的「圣地」，因为许多的商店和商业机构都致力于发展动漫和漫画，使这些2D世界深入人心，同时在不同的电子卖场都有相关产品发售。

发酵·Fermentation，是插画艺术家Shadow Chen与摄影师Ka Xiaoxi合作的一个拼贴作品。Shadow Chen把咖式影像放大、镜像、重塑以及大量重复，照片里记录的青春在这个过程中发酵，既是二位创作人对青春的各自诠释，整幅作品也在启发每一个观者，去重新寻找和理解属于自己的青春的含义。

有些问题需要被放大，催化，发酵才能看明白，青春也是这个样子，它如此疯狂，鲁莽，不屑，同时也充满着灵感和欲望，在被放大之前，它其实一直默默地存在在每个生命里，无论我们怎么长大，怎么衰老，它都还是一样在作用着我们。

青春可以被理解为欲望，色彩和香料，我们换着方式在寻找它，理解它，接受它，每次都会得到同一个道理，但每次都会感觉更加地明白它。

Shadow Chen

陈蕾颖(Shadow Chen)虽是一名插画家兼平面设计师，却对几乎所有的视觉艺术都抱有同样的热情，这些视觉艺术包括传统绘画、数码艺术和混合绘画。陈蕾颖接受了作为一名产品设计师的培训，她从事的项目范围很广，从杂志封面设计和服装设计到木制家具设计。陈蕾颖的灵感来源于她所处周边的事物、人物、音乐，她的作品风格独特且充满色彩，形式流畅迷幻，并搭配中国传统色彩。

Sometimes things need to be magnified, catalyzed, and fermented before they can be clearly seen. So it is with YOUTH. It is all at once crazy, reckless, and mighty, yet full of inspiration and desire. Noticed or not, youth is in fact quietly alive in every life, and no matter how old we grow, youth is – and always will be – fermenting inside us.

Youth can be seen as appetite, color, and spice. We all use different methods to seek it, understand it, and accept it. And although we end-up arriving at the same truth again and again, we feel closer to it each time we reach out for it.

Shadow Chen is an illustrator and graphic designer but shares an equal passion for almost every form of visual art including traditional painting, digital art, and mixed media. Shadow’s inspiration comes from her surroundings, people and music and her style is distinctive – full of colors, often in liquid, psychedelic forms and sprinkled with Chinese traditional twists.

《Intersections/交点》是一本由Goooodie和Sandmeier各自挑选本国摄影师而衍生的跨国出版物。经过挑选，拍摄黄河的中国摄影师张克纯和拍摄西非宗教文化的瑞士摄影师Namsa Leuba形成一个对比组合，他们各自的主题相当成熟，是花费了大量时间和心思才完成的长期项目，并在拍摄方式、视觉语言以及影像色调等方面有强烈的对比和不同，契合了此次交错融合的出版理念。Sandmeier创始人Didier Quarroz通过正反、左右和大小等设计元素把二位摄影师的作品整合在一本影集里，而对于我们来说，这是也继《馆子》大合辑之后一次有趣的尝试。

张克纯, 摄影师，1980年生于四川，目前工作居住在成都。

Namsa Leuba, 瑞士出生，毕业于瑞士洛桑艺术大学，现居纽约，从事商业影像与艺术创作。Ya Kala Ben系列为她赢得不少赞誉和奖项。

Goooodie, 由咖小西和一万创立，长期致力于设计、摄影、音乐、时装和写作等领域的创作，试图呈现的是一种精炼后的独立气质 。2011年，出版收录17位年轻摄影师的作品合集《馆子》。

Sandmeier，由瑞士平面设计师Didier Quarroz创立于2011年底的小型出版社，以传统印刷和网络传播的形式关注全球年轻摄影师及艺术家的作品。Didier Quarroz目前工作生活在上海。

In the first edition of this project, Sandmeier and Goooodie chose each one different photographers from their home countries, Switzerland and China, with the goal to find two who contrast and go along well with one of their current projects. After a selection process swiss photographer Namsa Leuba and chinese photographer Zhang Kechun were assembled. Both photographers work in a documentary way but differ strongly in the way they approach to their subject. Namsa intervenes and sometimes even provokes hard reactions,  Kechun holds him self back and let talk the subject, being overwhelmed by its different dimensions.

Namsa Leuba, born in Switzerland, graduated from ECAL/University of art and design Lausanne, lives currently in New York, USA.

Zhang Kechun, born 1980 in Sichuan, China, is a artist currently based in Chengdu.

Sandmeier is a small swiss publishing house based in Shanghai, with a main interest in printed and digital publishing. Founded in December 2011 Sandmeier is focused on young international photographers and artists.

Goooodie is a creative studio, curated by Ka Xiaoxi and Evan. They try to present a new independent proclivity after refining all the things about fashion, design, photography, music, publication and youth culture. In 2011, they published “Light Room”, a book showcasing 17 young chinese photographers.

说它是一首歌，或许早已演变为一句主流玩笑。

说它是母亲、是根，恐怕对应的要么是遗忘，要么早已是六亲不认。

我们整日在现代化的滔天洪流中逐浪嬉戏，可能早已忘却了这一道蜿蜒，不愿再静心凝望它一眼，哪怕是一瞬间。

它就是一条河！曲与直、圆与缺、急与缓、动与静、雄与秀、朴与奇、明与暗、光与色、形与神、实与虚，还有它怀抱着子民的现实与命运、欢喜与忧伤、坚定与徜徉。

我决意前往。带上我全部的勇气和唯一能拿得出手的好酒器—我的大画幅相机，这是我能做到的含蓄、庄严。我知道一个摄影者不适合指点江山，面对它丰满的古今、如此恒定的存在，咆哮、豪迈与哀怨也许就是失态。我知道我必须动用我的沉默的灵魂了，静静为他守望一季，凝望它一程，与之饮一盅、歌一曲、一枕共眠。

谁在为谁守望？谁与谁在裹夹着流淌？活着，就全都在流逝。我们又都还在，静心看一眼过去和现在，或许更能思量未来。

世界已如此喧嚣，一首清淡的歌谣或许才配得上它原本就高贵的肤色，配得上它的古往今来，配得上它的漂泊四方。。。

拍摄这个项目源于读了张承志的《北方的河》。被书中滚烫的文字所影响, 决定去黄河边走一走。去感受黄河带给的父亲般的博大和宽广, 在辽阔的、奔流不息的黄河寻找到我的根。一路走来，我意识里的那条河正在被现实的洪流淹没。那条心中传奇的河再也找不到了。这是一种深刻的悲观的基础。但是，对于一个幅员辽阔又历史悠久的国度来说，前途最终是光明的。因为这个母体里会有一种血统，一种水土，一种创造的力量使活泼健壮的新生婴儿降生于世，病态软弱的呻吟将在他们的欢声叫喊中被淹没。从这种观点看来，一切又应当是乐观的。

Surge of the Yellow River

Calling it a song has long been considered a popular joke.

Calling it our mother or our beginning…that too has long been forgotten and disowned.

Indulging ourselves in the turbulent pleasures of the modern world day after day, we might have put the winding river out of mind, refusing to solemnly gaze upon it, not even for a moment.

Meandering or straight, swelling or dry, rapid or slow, lively or tranquil, glorified or natural, simple or magnificent, bright or dark, colorful or staid, real or imagined, the river embraces the human condition: joy, sorrow, faith, hesitance, fate.

I was determined to go. I brought along the entirety of my courage and my only tool – a large format camera – my preferred form of expression. I’m confident that mountains and rivers are nothing a photographer can properly comment on – making bold pledges or waxing silly philosophies in the presence of.

such an eternal eternity may be inappropriate. Yet still, I knew that I must arouse my soul – to silently stare at it for a season, to drink a toast to it, to sing a song for it, and to sleep quietly beside it.

Who is keeping watch on whom? Who is wrapped in the presence of the other? To live is to watch time go by. Still we are here, and only by looking at the past and present may we properly consider the future. In such a noisy world, perhaps only a faint and simple ballad does justice to the river – the ineffable color, the immortal drift.

The inspiration behind this series of photographs is the novel “River of the North” by Zhang Chengzhi. Struck by the novel’s powerful vividness, I decided to take a walk along the Yellow River to find myself through the father-like embrace of those vast and ceaseless streams. As I walked, the flow of my consciousness was slowly inundated by a stream of reality. I found that the river that once was full of legend and fantasy had disappeared, replaced by a profound pessimism. Nevertheless, as a vast country with a long history, its future is always bright.

There is a powerful bloodline connecting past and present – feeding our own like a mother feeds her babies. Here, the cries of the weak will be replaced by the shouts of the strong. From this perspective, all is optimistic.

我是一位出生于瑞士的非洲裔摄影师，在几内亚首都科纳克里旅行时完成了这个系列。作品蕴含了我对于身体结构及其解构的浓厚兴趣，也尝试着在叙述隐形的灵冥。

我研究过几内亚宇宙论里用于仪式的文物及与仪式建筑有关的雕塑，它们来自另一个世界，是生命的根源。我试图去追寻这些不可触及的。

透过象征着谦卑、运气、生殖或驱魔通道的表象及符号，那些雕塑承载了巨大的文化价值。通过作品，我对这些在仪式中意义非凡的宇宙符号重新演绎和变革。

这些符号以严格秩序组合在一起，有各自的位置，是无法割裂的群体，需要对以同等重视。它们不是这个群落的神，而是祈祷者，是祭祀的工具。我用有别于几内亚文化情境的方式重新演绎，赋予它们另一种含义。某种程度上说，这样做是亵渎。

通过镜头和情景再造，我将这些神圣的符号带入西方美学的艺术构架，照片中的它们叙述着新的观点。在创作过程中，我遇到过使用暴力的极端分子，他们认为这是亵渎神灵，也还有些人感到惊恐，拒绝配合。

YA KALA BEN
Crossed look

I am an African-European, born in Switzerland and my project was accomplished on a trip to Guinea Conakry.

In this work, I was interested in the construction and deconstruction of the body as well as the depiction of the invisible.

I have studied ritual artifacts common to the cosmology of Guineans; statuettes that are part of a ceremonial structure. They are from another world, they are the roots of the living. Thereby, I sought to touch the untouchable.

Modesty, luck, fecundity or a channel for exorcism, those statuettes hold a cultural value through what they represent or symbolise. With this work, I transform these objects, cosmological symbols of a community, who traditionally have a signification when used as part of rituals.

These objects are part of a collective that they must not be separated from, or risk loosing their value. They are not the gods of this community but their prayers. They are integrated in a rigorous symbolic order, where every component has its place. They are ritual tools that I have animated by staging live models and in a way to desecrate them by giving them another meaning; an unfamiliar meaning in the Guinean context.

In recontextualizing these sacred objects through the lens, I brought them in a framework meant for Western aesthetic choices and taste.

This photographic eye would make them speak differently. Throughout my fieldwork, I had to deal with sometimes violent reactions from Guineans who viewed my procedures/practices as a form of sacrilege. Some were afraid and were struck with astonishment.

摄影师Thobias Fäldt来自瑞典，目前居住在斯德哥尔摩。他的第一个特点是爱用闪光灯，无论是在黑夜中还是日光下；另一招牌是他的观念创作，后期拼接或布景的功力都很强大，算是有自己的风格了。

Thobias Fäldt与Klara Källström创立一个叫KK+TF的组合，二人风格很接近，参加过很多展览也做过不少书。这会在旧金山的Popular Workshop正有他们的展览Lightening Appears For A Clear Sky，9月初结束。

Thobias Fäldt was born in 1978 in Forsbacka, Sweden, and now lives and works in Stockholm. In 2006 Fäldt received the Scanpix Big Photo award for his Year One project. In 2009 he released the first volume in his series of ten books 581C and the second volume the following year. Fäldt’s work has been exhibited worldwide and is frequently published in art magazines and anthologies.

当炙热青春、公路旅行与狂野的爱成为新生代摄影师趋之若鹜的主旋律时，27岁的美国摄影师Jeff Luker可以说是独树一帜，尽管他的镜头同样是对准身边那群年轻爱玩的朋友们，但人迹罕至的旷野风光更频繁地出现成为其照片中的主角，那些年轻人率真自然，与自然融合一体，无论是忧伤还是狂欢，都无做作之感，这源于Jeff Luker对大自然的无限热爱和切身体验吧。

因为要完成各种拍摄，Jeff经常在旅行的路上。其作品细腻刻画人物情绪的同时也呈现了世界各地不同的风光。这一切，并非因他曾为Ryan Mcginley做过助手，而是来自照片本身之美和他对自然之美的向往和探索。 在德国出版社PogoBooks为他出版的Not Many Kingdoms left一书中，我们看到的是一个热爱自然的年轻艺术家关于青春、自由以及大自然野外的种种冥想。

确实，初看Jeff的摄影作品，会把他作为大自然的一个冷静观者，平静的湖面，孤寂的森林和远处的雪山都透着静谧之美，而突然出现手举烟花的年轻人，丛林中的奔跑少年，配合着烟雾、海水拍浪、神秘山洞 ，青春之气扑面而来。哦，他应该是一位旅途中体验不同世界的生活家，他贴近自然和朋友，贴得非常近，捕捉着人们进入自然之时的欣喜，最后连那些纯粹的风景照也变得动感起来，冲击力极强。失焦、抖动或是逆光对于这些照片来说不再是技术上的失误，反而提供了更具感染力的真实证据。这些元素不停地出现在他的作品中，成为其招牌式写真。

Jeff Luker在Massachusetts长大，从小开始拍照，但真正对照片开始着迷是他在波士顿艾默生学院进修电影专业时。他喜爱胶片，尤其是最基础的135相机，便携快捷，“相机总要随身携带的，你永远不知道今天会发生什么。”

带着跳跃的青春和激情，Jeff Luker一直在路上，在无尽的路途中追寻内心的那个真实自我，而留给我们的是无数好看的照片以及一颗渴望去野的心。

摄影对你的生活带来了哪些影响？

照片可以让我去见那群最好的朋友，也会有很多旅行的机会，有时也可以改变人们观察事物的角度。

无论是拍城市还是自然风光，你的照片都让人印象深刻，你愿意被归到风景摄影师之类吗？

我对各种自然风景着迷。无论是一个小镇、城市还是无人的旷野，都有能唤起我共鸣的瞬间，让我举起相机拍摄。

通过照片你想表达什么？

Roland Barthes 在书中讨论过一张照片应该有的因素。我认为一张好照片是文化意义和私人情感的集合。

你为何如此喜欢旅行？会为你带来什么样的创作灵感？

开阔的路途有一种无穷尽的美感，很多要看的风景，很多要去经历的事情，我在旅途中会拍很多照片。

惊叹于各种不同风景之时，我会体验到各地不同的生活方式，这个世界的多样性真是一件有趣的事。

旅行中会有什么记忆深刻的事？

太多了。不久前，我在野外看到一只北美灰熊，对我来说在这样的自然景观中看到其他生物，总是意件非常难忘的事。

你会随身带相机？

是的，我一直随身带着相机，平时也会带一个小相机。你永远不知道将会看到什么。

哪些因素会促成一次你认为是完美的拍摄？

我的拍摄很低调，我会努力让所有人兴奋起来，特别自然的那种，最后的照片看起来也是这样。

照片中的人物看起来都很棒，都是你的朋友吗？

是的，都是我认识的朋友。商业拍摄，虽然是模特，但我会参与casting挑选模特。

可以谈谈与Ryan McGinley一起工作的感受吗？

很多人对此很好奇，因为尊敬Ryan和他工作的，我尽量不去说太多。那时候，我一直喜欢户外、徒步、垂钓和攀岩，但始终惧怕洞穴。当我成了他的助手，需要每天钻进洞穴后，发现里面是如此的美，当你战胜了一种恐惧，反而会沉迷其中。

你对新生代摄影师如何看？他们都在拍摄青春、自由、爱与梦想。

纵观历史，艺术总是会有潮流的。其主题会反映出艺术关心的当今社会，如此多的摄影作品正好直接反映出年轻人在这个世界的状态和现况。 表达自我，本身并无可非议，只是大量的雷同照片让人无法忍受。和我们的精神世界有联系的潮流最终会占主导。

在我看来，表达真正的内心和感受就好了，不要管别人在拍摄什么。你可以随心所欲地拍一个在丛林中走路的孩子或是你的裸体女友，只要觉得这样做对你是重要的，那就去做。

下一站的计划是？

还不知道，太多地方要去，很难决定。

参与过的商业项目你可以自由表达想法吗？你最喜欢的部分是？

不管是什么项目，你都可以找到方式去表达你自己的想法和视角。 我最喜欢带着一群超酷的人在一个漂亮的环境里玩，完成所有从我脑子里突然冒出来的想法，很有意思的。

谈谈你在筹备的新书吧

是一本关于美国荒野的书，正在制作中。

Jeff Luker is an American photographer, born in 1985. He currently lives and works in New York.

Why do you love to travel so much?

The open road is a thing of endless beauty, there is so much to see and experience out there.

How does travel inspire you? I mean, for both photography and life.

It makes me appreciate different landscapes and different ways of life, how diverse the world is.

Please tell us one memorable story in your travel?

Not too long ago I saw a young Grizzly Bear in the wild, for me it was very cool to see the creature in its natural surroundings.

Do you bring cameras all the time?

Yes, I always bring a camera with me, I love taking photos while traveling, I usually try to keep a small camera with me even on everyday trips around town. You never know what you might see.

All the young people in your work look very cool, are they your friends travelling together?

Yes, they are all friends who I have known. For commissioned work I usually shoot models but I like to work on the casting process for that as well.

What elements would make up an ideal shoot for you?

I like shoots that are low-key but also have a vine of everyone being excited and on the same page for a project, it really shows up in the end result.

what’s your next stop?

I am not sure yet. There are so many places I want to see and go to, it can be hard to decide which one is next.

For commercial projects, do you have enough freedom to express yourself?

Yes, I think so, no matter what the project is you can find ways to offer your point of view and express your ideas.

What elements would make up an ideal shoot for you? What was your favorite part of it?

I like shoots that are low-key but also have a vine of everyone being excited and on the same page for a project, it really shows up in the end result. My favorite part was just going out into some beautiful places with lots of cool people and just running around shooting all these ideas that came into my head.

You are editing a new book, what is it about?

It is a book about the American Wilderness, I am still working on it.

Brand Spirit 是广告人Andrew Miller刚刚完成的一个项目：他用100天时间将100件人们所熟知的商品完全涂白，它们依然有极高的辨识度。商业人在学习艺术时候萌生的这个想法其实颇有意思，他也在考虑新的创作方向，并打算今后制作Art Prints出售。

去Logo化这个命题其实早有，不新鲜，如Muji等品牌的诞生。这个项目之所以引人，大概是100件商品中多为八九十年代的经典，让当代人有怀旧感，且白色之美始终给人好感。

Brand Spirit: every day for 100 days, Andrew Miller painted one branded object white, removing all visual branding, reducing the object to its purest form. He  can purchase each object for less than $10, it can be something he owns, something another person gives him, or something he find.

Jeremy O’sullivan是在北京居住了五年的新西兰人。原本是雕塑专业出身的他却在大量使用摄影作为表达媒介。透过他的镜头，我们看到了一个完全不同的北京城。在照片呈现时，他常使用大量的留白，这让影像更具形式感和集中性，更为突出。而对称和不规则整齐正是Jeremy O’sullivan的美学名词。

“八卦二分之一” 这个系列名是如何来的？想借此表达什么？

想说现实不真实。八卦是世间万物的故事，而人们能看到的最多只是事物的二分之一而已。

衣服的设计和材质选择方面如何来近这个主题？

反常规的设计。比如三个袖子的T恤 ，有四种穿法的网衫等，如果我们不告诉你，可能就不会发现。

这次拍摄的模特依旧是朋友，为何挑选他们，为何是二男二女？

当确定这个主题后，脑袋里的他们几个自然就蹦了出来，自然而然。有点两个自己的意思，双子，也是二分之一。

对新系列有什么满意的和不满意的地方？

整体呈现都还是比较满意，只是由于时间关系有些新款没能一起拍片，有些遗憾。

JL is an indie fashion brand in Shanghai, founded by Fenfe Chen and Nilco Wang. “ The Eight Diagrams & One-half” is their 2012 Spring/Summer Collection.

ADP is short for Archivo De Pivo and is a project / book about travelling, memories, mountains, girls, love, graphics and me. Archivo De Pivo is published in November 2011 by Abnormal Data Processing

It’s hard to describe the book in a few words because it is very rich in its text and images. Ivo Schmetz keeps saying that it isn’t a travel book, nor a diary, nor a photography book or graphic design book but in fact it is! It is a little of all of those but put together with a great sense of style, feeling, adventure and personal memories. Basicly it’s a 320 pages long trip around the world that’ll keep you busy for quite a while because of all it’s layers in imagery and text.

Ferrari Federico是一位来自意大利威尼斯的摄影师，出生于1992年。WHAT I DO NOT HAVE IS WHAT I DO NOT MISS是一本他刚出版、限量100册的影集，16页，单色印刷。排版应该由同在意大利的平面设计师Moreu Alberto完成，二人还共同创立了一个叫2ManyPhotographers的网站。

尽管深受Jurgern Teller的影响而在使用一台Contax G2，Federico仍是一位值得我们期待的年轻摄影师。

Ferrari Federico, is a photographer based in Metre, Italy. He founded 2ManyPhotographers with graphic designer Moreu Alberto. Using a Contax G2, he just published a 16-pages photobook WHAT I DO NOT HAVE IS WHAT I DO NOT MISS, which is a great one definitely.
